Consequence

A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A loss of patient support systems can delay care, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Braun Service or an authorized dealer will update the software, modify wiring, and replace the battery isolator, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 12, 2026. Defect

Braun Ambulances (Braun Ambulances) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Chief XL I, Chief XL III, Express Plus I, Express III, and Liberty I vehicles. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware in the node may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits.

Consequence

Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire.

Remedy
