Defect

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Ford F-59 commercial chassis vehicles manufactured December 17, 2009, to April 30, 2014. Corrosive environments, such as water mixed with road salt, may cause a short circuit between the electrical junction block and the mounting bracket/frame.

Consequence

A short circuit may result in a fire.

Remedy

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the junction block with an improved design, free of charge. The recall began on July 28, 2014.
