Defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOME CHASSIS AND HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE TIE ROD ENDS AND/OR DRAG LINK ASSEMBLY ENDS THAT COULD HAVE INSUFFICIENT HARNESS IN THE BALL STUD.
Consequence
THIS COULD RESULT IN PREMATURE WEAR AND, POTENTIALLY, SEPARATION OF THE BALL STUD FROM ITS SOCKET.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE TIE ROD ENDS AND/OR DRAG LINK ASSEMBLIES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 27, 2000.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.
