Defect
A NUT WHICH JOINS THE WHEEL SPINDLE AND A BALL JOINT IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS NOT PROPERLY TORQUED.
Consequence
THE BALL JOINT AND THE SUSPENSION STRUT CAN ULTIMATELYSEPARATE FROM EACH OTHER. THE WHEEL WILL REMAIN ATTACHED TO THE CAR, BUT LOSS OFSTEERING CONTROL WILL RESULT.
Remedy
INSPECT THE FRONT SUSPENSION FOR PROPER BALL JOINT ATTACHMENT AND REPLACE THE BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY IF IT DOES NOT MEET SPECIFICATIONS.
